This term, we will explore stories with familiar settings, using The Pirates Next Door, by Jonny Duddle, as our key text. We will make predictions about the text, explore characters, settings and events whilst developing our story writing and descriptive writing skills. By the end of the unit, children will be able to rewrite their own story, inspired by The Pirates Next Door.

We will also explore riddles, learning how to create engaging clues through descriptive language. 

Later in the term, we will write non-chronological reports about autumn, developing our skills in researching, organising and presenting factual information.

Alongside our English units, we will continue to develop word reading and comprehension skills through daily phonics and guided reading sessions.
