Home Learning
Reading
Children are expected to read at home for at least 10 minutes per evening. A responsible adult must then sign the child's Reading Record. Each child has been given a designated day to return their Reading Book and put it in the box located inside the classroom. It is the child's responsibility to ensure it is returned in the box. We endeavour to change the book the same day.
Spellings
Each child will be given a set of spellings to read, write and learn in spelling books (provided). These are issued every Tuesday and children will be tested the following Tuesday.
Maths
By the end of Y3, children are expected to know the 2,3,4,5 and 8 times tables. Time is allocated in the curriculum throughout the academic year to learn these but children are encouraged to practise these regularly at home. If your child has learnt the facts already, then challenge them by asking the corresponding division question. For example, a child who knows 3 x 4 = 12, should also be able to recall 12 ÷ 4 = 3.
