Autumn 2

In our English curriculum we look at the language acquisition, syntax and structure within our lessons.

We follow a 3 phase approach:

IMMERSION

GATHERING CONTENT

WRITING.

Mathematics.

We start to develop our project skills.  We bring mathematics to life by becoming architects. We design and build homes out of 3D shapes.  Using the skills we have learnt earlier with a compass and protractor.  

We work on area and perimeter by becoming a carpet shop owner and creating prices for carpets in our new homes.

We use formulae for area, volume of simple shapes and more complex shapes.

They really enjoy designing and building their own houses.

We also look at the language of Christmas and any other special events during this time.
