Religious Education - We Pray, We Learn, We Discern
Religious Education helps children to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith while also learning about other religions and beliefs. Following the Salford Diocese curriculum enables us to reach our mission to effectively develop children's faith and values and for pupils to explore Bible stories, prayer, the Church year, and the teachings of Jesus, linking these to their own lives and experiences.
Our focus topics are:
Creation and Covenant: Reflecting on God’s relationship with humanity and the responsibilities of being part of his creation.
Prophecy and Promise: Studying how God’s promises and the messages of the prophets point towards salvation and Hope.
Galilee to Jerusalem: Pupils follow Jesus’ ministry, learning about his teachings, miracles, and the path that leads to his passion
Desert to Garden: Focuses on the events of Holy Week and Easter, exploring themes of suffering, resurrection, and new life.
To the end of the Earth: Pupils consider the mission of the Church and how Christians are called to share the Good News, linking Scripture.
We aim to create an environment where each child feels appreciated and inspired to develop their faith, compassion, and understanding through a variety of prayers, conversation and creative activities.
