“Well done, good and faithful servant!”
– Matthew 25:21

Our embedded culture of welcome means that the school celebrates the presence of those from various cultures and belief traditions, going the extra mile to understand their needs and enable them to live and pray in fidelity to their own commitments.  We have developed a rolling programme of leadership throughout the school where leaders from each house group Faith, Hope, Charity and Discernment help develop our embedded culture of welcome through the Gospel Values and the Fundamental British Values.

Faith

Faith is the foundation of all we do.

Faith is more than just belief—it’s a deep trust in God and in one another. Faith House means embracing courage, resilience, and a positive attitude, even when challenges arise. Faith House embodies:

  • The support of the school community.

  • Acting bravely and stand up for what is right.

  • Supporting each other in times of difficulty, knowing they are not alone.

Faith inspires us to live with integrity and confidence, knowing that through trust in God’s promises, we can grow and thrive.

Individual liberty: the freedom to believe and act as you wish, as long as it is within the law.

Hope

Hope lights the way to a brighter future.

Hope is a confident expectation that good things will come. It is the strength to look forward with optimism and to keep trying, no matter the setbacks. Hope House embodies:

  • A positive outlook and motivation to set and achieve goals.

  • Perseverance through challenges, knowing that success comes with effort.

  • Encouragement and support for others to believe in their potential.

Hope gives our school community the energy to keep growing and dreaming, knowing that every day holds new possibilities.

Mutual respect: treating all individuals with respect, regardless of their differences.

Charity

Charity is love in action.

Charity means selfless love—caring for others without expecting anything in return. Charity House embodies:

  • Kindness and generosity in everyday actions.

  • Building an inclusive community where everyone feels valued and loved.

  • Leading by example through acts of service and compassion.

Charity reminds us that love is the heart of our school and the key to making the world a better place.

Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs: Respecting the diverse opinions, backgrounds, and beliefs of others.

Discernment

Discernment guides us to make wise choices.

Discernment is the gift of understanding what is good and right. It helps us make thoughtful decisions by listening carefully to our conscience and to God’s guidance. Discernment House embodies:

  • Reflection on our choices and learn from experiences.

  • Seeking advice and wisdom from teachers, friends, and family.

  • Acting with integrity, standing firm in what they believe is right.

Discernment prepares our pupils to navigate life’s challenges wisely and thoughtfully, making a positive difference wherever they go.

Democracy: The right to vote, influence decisions, and the understanding that everyone has a role in the democratic process.  It also involves being able to express your opinions while being willing to listen to other’s views.

The Rule of Law: An understanding that laws are in place to protect individuals and society as a whole, and the importance of following them.
