At Sacred Heart, charity is more than just one of our house names—it is at the very heart of who we are. We believe that charity means showing selfless love—caring for others without expecting anything in return.

We are incredibly proud of how our whole school community—pupils, families, staff, and local businesses—comes together to put faith into action. Through generous hearts and kind hands, we have been able to raise astonishing amounts of money and offer meaningful support to those in God’s family who need it most.

Whether it’s through fundraising events, collections for local charities and food banks, or global appeals, our children learn that every small act of love makes a big difference. These experiences help them grow in compassion, gratitude and faith.

At Sacred Heart, charity is not just something we do—it is something we live. Together, we are helping to build a world filled with love, hope, and justice, one act of kindness at a time.

Blackburn Foodbank

At Sacred Heart, we believe in showing love and compassion to others all year round. During the holy seasons of Advent and Ramadan, our school community comes together in a special way to support our local food bank.

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful families, we are able to collect an impressive amount of food for those who are facing difficult times. Together, we are helping to ensure that no one in our wider community goes hungry.

This shared act of kindness is a beautiful reminder that we are all part of one family—God’s family. Through giving, we grow in love, understanding, and unity.

CAFOD

At Sacred Heart, we are proud to support CAFOD (the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development) at different times throughout the year. CAFOD is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, working in communities across the world to bring hope, dignity, and practical help to those in need.

Through generous fundraising and heartfelt prayer, our school community plays a small but meaningful part in the incredible mission of CAFOD—helping to build a more just and compassionate world.
